Time of Adam to the Kings

Adam and Eve
Adam was created by God on the sixth day of creation. Then God gave Adam a partner by creating Eve.
Joseph
Joseph was one of twelve sons of Jacob. He was the first born son of Rachel.
Amram and Jochebed
Ambram was father to Moses, and Jochebed was a descendant of Levi and the mother of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
Moses
Moses, son of Amram and Jochebed from the tribe of Levi, and the younger brother of Miriam and Aaron.
Joshua
The son of Nun of the tribe of Ephraim. Moses' successor as the leader of Israel.
Caleb
He was one of the twelve spies sent to scout the land of Canaan.
Rahab
Rahab was given the promise that she and her family would be spared when the Israelite army attacked Jericho.
Achan
Achan was an Israelite who fought the battle of Jericho with Joshua.
Elkanah
Was father of Samuel the prophet, an 'Ephrathite', but lived at Ramah, a man of wealth and high position.
Hannah
In the Temple at Shiloh, she made a vow to God that if He granted her a son, she would dedicate him to the Lord.
Hophni and Phineas
Hophni and his brother Phineas were two worthless men with no regard for the Lord.
Cain and Able
God accepted the offering of Abel, but rejected Cain's. Angered by this rejection, Cain killed his brother.
Samuel
Samuel, the son of Elkanah, and his wife Hannah, was a prophet and the last of Israel's Judges.
Enoch
Enoch was the son of Jared, the father of Methuselah, and the great-grandfather of Noah
Noah
Son of Lamech, Noah was one of eight people that lived before, during, and after the Great Flood.
Abraham
Abraham was the first patriarch of Israel. He was the son of Terah, and brother to Nahor and Haran.
Eliezer
Eliezer was a son of Moses and Zipporah, and the brother to Gershom.
Isaac
Isaac, the second patriarch of Israel, son of Abraham and Sarah, and father of Jacob and Esau.
Esau
Esau became the ancestor of the people of Edom, which was a country near Israel during ancient times.
Jacob
Jacob was the son of Isaac and Rebekah, and the twin brother of Esau.

Time of the Kings

Saul
Saul was the first king of Israel. He was the son of Kish of the tribe of Benjamin.
David
He was handpicked by God, anointed by Samuel, and became Israel's second, and greatest, king.
Solomon
Solomon was renown for his wisdom, wealth and for his construction projects.
Jeroboam
The first king of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, which included the city of Jerusalem and the Temple.
Rehoboam
Rehoboam, son of Solomon and Naamah the Ammonitess, became the first ruler of the Southern Kingdom of Judah.
Shishak
Shishak provided refuge to Jeroboam during the later years of Solomon's reign.
Omri
Omri was worse than any of the kings who had ruled Israel before his reign.
Ben-Hadad
King of Aram Damascus and contemporary of Kings Baasha and Ahab of Israel and Asa of Judah.
Ahab
Ahab, under Jezebel's influence, built a pagan temple, and allowed idols into Samaria.
Elijah
Elijah, a Tishbite from the region of Gilead, was a prophet in Israel during the reigns of Ahab, Ahaziah and Jehoram
Jehoshaphat
The fourth King of Judah. He eradicated the pagan cults and sent priests and Levites all over the country to teach the Law of God.
Ahaziah
Ahaziah was the eighth king of the northern kingdom of Israel. He was the son of Ahab and Jezebel.
Mesha
Mesha was a king of Moab, and paid an annual tribute of 100,000 lambs and the wool from 100,000 rams to King Ahab of Israel
Elisha
Elisha, like Elijah, performed some extraordinary miracles as a prophet of God.
Hazael & Jehu
Hazael, King of Syria, and a powerful enemy of Israel. Jehu was the tenth King of the northern kingdom of Israel.
Jezebel
Jezebel worshiped a pagan god called Baal and she helped to corrupt Israel with idol worship.
Joash
He became king at the age of seven, after Jehoiada the priest rebelled against Athaliah, and proclaimed Joash the rightful ruler.
Jehoahaz
He reigned for 17 years in Samaria, and followed the same path as Jeroboam, leading the people of Israel to sin.
Amaziah
Amaziah assembled an army from Judah and Benjamin, and re-conquered Edom, which gained its independence from Judah 50 year's earlier.
Hezekiah
Hezekiah undertook a religious reform, in removing idolatrous elements from worship, cleansing and sanctifying the Temple.
Ezra
Ezra was the leader of a group of Jews returning to Jerusalem from the Babylonian Exile.
Nehemiah
Was appointed to be the governor of Judah and permitted him to go to Jerusalem to help his fellow Jews rebuild.
Later Kings
Some of the later Kings of Israel and Judah.

Exile
From the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon to the fall of Babylon to the Medes and Persians.

Post Exile Period

Return
The later years of exile and the return to Israel.

Prophets to the Kings

Micah
Micah predicted the downfall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple, which were fulfilled by the Babylonians and Romans
Isaiah
Isaiah is considered by some to be the greatest Old Testament prophets, his disciples continued his teachings long after he died.
Hosea
Hosea spoke of the desolations that would result from being unfaithful to God, and of God's promise to later restore Israel.
Zephaniah
Zephaniah was a prophet to Judah, during the year before its destruction by the Babylonians.
Nahum
Nahum explains that because of Assyria's pride and cruelty in their destruction of Israel, their empire would be destroyed.
Habakkuk
Habakkuk lived in Judah and was a contemporary of the prophets Nahum and Jeremiah. He preached during the last days of Judah.

Prophets to the Exiles

Jeremiah
Jeremiah warned the people of Jerusalem that they would be punished harshly for their sins.
Daniel
Because of his faith in God he was persecuted by the Babylonians. At one point, he was thrown into a den of lions, but survived.
Ezekiel
Ezekiel's prophecies about the destruction of Jerusalem caused friction among the Jews who were with him in Babylon.

Gods answers to the prophets during the return to Israel from exile.

Prophets After the Exile

Haggai
Haggai was sent by God to preach to the restored community of Jews in Jerusalem after the Babylonian Captivity had ended.
Zechariah
Zechariah's prophecies came from visions that showed God's power, judgment, importance of spiritual strength, and promise of the Messiah.
